Katsushika Hokusai was an ukiyo-e artist of the Edo period who is famous around the world.

During his life, Hokusai depicted Mount Fuji as viewed from various locations.

One such location was Fuefuki City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Although the city is currently known for its hot springs and fruits, it flourished back in those days as a post town.

Hokusai’s many works include illustrations of both the bustle of the town and the majestically towering Mount Fuji.

Recently FUJIYAMA Twin Terrace was opened in Fuefuki City.
